The ETO top 100 Pleasure Products - part 3

This month we conclude our epic journey through the landscape of the Top 100 Pleasure Products with the cream of the crop, the Top 30...

This feature was conceived to coincide with the 100th issue of ETO and its aim was to highlight the most important pleasure products which had been released in the last decade. The terms of reference dictated that to be included every product had to be important, influential or pioneering in some way and the feedback we’ve received so far tells us we’ve pretty much got it right.

As we unveil this final instalment we acknowledge that there are two hugely important sectors which have not been represented at all; lube and condoms. With so many competing brands and product variations in each sector, they could probably run to a Top 100 feature on their own. And rather than single out Brand A from Brands B-Z we thought it best to omit lube and condoms altogether from this list which is, after all, devoted to individual products and ranges

rather than product categories. The

upper

echelons of our Top 30 are,

perhaps inevitably, dominated by the

‘classics’ that have been the industry’s best sellers over the last decade. They have stood the test of time and continue to rack up the sales. You might not agree with the whole Top 100 but we very much doubt

42

you could argue with our chosen Top 6, even if you disagree with the order in which we’ve listed them. And really, there could only have been one name at the top couldn’t there? Incidentally we did ask readers to tweet us their guesses for the Top 3 and the first tweeter to name them in order was @RoosterLovesYou - whose own Little Rooster Pleasure Clock featured in the first part of the list. Congratulations! You win 100 pleasure products!

And congratulations too to all the manufacturers, brands and products featured in our Top 100. On behalf of a grateful industry, we salute you.

30 REV1000 [LOVING JOY]

Male masturbation went hi-tech last year when Loving Joy unveiled this premium priced multi-

function spinning and twisting device that would not have looked out of place on the shelves of B&Q. It supported the launch with a viral video and clever PR that captivated the tabloids.

THE WAVER [ORION]

Waver featured an innovative internal mechanism that could change the shaft’s diameter during use, setting the surface pulsating in waves. The ‘wave’ action was likened to the movement of a caterpillar at the time of its release in 2007.

28 LEAF

[BMS FACTORY]

BMS followed

up its Swan range with Leaf, a line of six rechargeable ‘organic’ shaped vibrators. The ‘new age’ theme was continued with the products’ names and packaging, which had the look of recycled paper. A delightful product with exquisite attention to detail throughout.
