Poppy Hills Renovation Poppy Hills Golf

Course is on schedule for renovation to begin in March 2013. The renova- tion project received great news over the past few months. It started in late January when the Poppy Hills makeover was unani- mously approved by the Monterey County Plan- ning Commission. NCGA Executive Director/ CEO Lyn Nelson called the result “nothing shy of amazing” and pointed out that no one spoke in

opposition of the project, an exceptional outcome in the path of any approval process. The renovation plan then had to wait a 30-day acceptance period, which it successfully made it through, as no appeals were made to the Coastal Commission. The NCGA members’

course remains open for the rest of 2012 and the fi rst part of 2013. The classic Robert Trent Jones Jr. design will be available for play until 2013 with

NCGA members re- ceiving discounted rates as usual. The course will close for approxi- mately one year, with plans for it to reopen in April or May of 2014. The new design will see a more natural layout with doglegs softened, different green com- plexes and a greater va- riety of tees. “Providing

On Saturday June 2, a seminar will be held at Poppy Ridge in Livermore, and the following Saturday, June 9, a seminar will be held at Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach. Both seminars begin at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 1:00 p.m.
