Irene James, of Dionysus SDI (Pty) Ltd, led a workshop entitled Integrating adult learning, job competencies and performance. James explained that the adult learning principle is that adults will only learn what they need to and want to learn. James went on to share the ADDIE model with the delegates; Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate.


Francois du Plessis, from Engage Leadership, shared case studies from the Retail, FMCG and Consumer Finance Industries in his workshop Building leadership bench strength to deliver business results. He explained the integrated leadership bench strength development process he has implemented in three organisations across three different industries. Du Plessis spoke of internal and external brand as well as an overview of some of the global best practices.


Wikus van der Merwe, Head of External Performance Consulting at Telkom, gave an overview of The state of ICT in S.A., including the global digital economy rankings. The main question that came out of the session was to ask if we have the real skillsets to drive innovation in the various
