Filling a salon with lots of stylish furniture can be a very exciting part of your beauty career, especially if it’s your first salon.
Of course, you want it to look professional and attractive, but you want it to look exciting and modern too - just make sure you plan!
When choosing the furniture to ‘make’ your salon, it does have to be aesthetically pleasing, but you also have to take practicality into account too - what do you really need?And of course, one of the biggest purchases you will make is the couch!

“They may find that whilst they need a high end massage and body treatment couch, a more basic couch, with fewer adjustments, is adequate for manicure treatments.”

The one piece of equipment that you really must have to carry out a successful treatment - or even a successful range of treatments - and probably one of the most expensive purchases you will make for your salon. Before you embark upon the journey of choosing a faithful couch,Angela recommends that you purchase furniture based on what treatments will be performed. “When selecting your furniture, purchasing choices should be based on functionality,” she says. It’s no use buying one that remains flat if you want to carry out a treatment that requires your client to be in a seated position.
Planning for the future is also a good idea when choosing your
couch.Are there any treatments you’re planning on training in sometime in the future? If you plan to keep adding treatments to your treatment menu, you should go for a couch that can adapt for each treatment type, otherwise you’ll end up struggling to introduce the things you want to.

Your budget is going to be a major deciding factor when choosing the perfect therapy couch for you. Remember however that your couch
should be an investment, something that you really do need to choose carefully and put a good amount of your budget into, it really makes a difference for both you and your client during a treatment.
