City first for vehicle safety monitoring
In what is believe to be a London first, Enterprise has equipped its lat- est fleet of refuse collection vehicles operating in the Square Mile of the City of London with hard disk record- ing equipment from Innovative Safety Systems Ltd (ISS).
Enterprise, which works with a number of local authorities includ- ing Peterborough City Council, London Borough of
the Islington and
Liverpool City Council, has been pro- viding 24-hour domestic and commer- cial waste and recycling collections to the City since 1992. With over 30 years’ experience in waste manage- ment, recycling and CCTV, ISS were chosen as preferred supplier.
“Typically our service operates in small streets with lots of traffic. Health and safety is a priority for us, and this equipment provides us with a month’s worth of recording so we can moni- tor our teams to make sure they are working in a safe manner,” says David Martin, Enterprise’s regional manag- ing director. “If there are any inci- dents, we can find out what happened and in the event of any fraudulent insurance claims made against us the recorded footage can be used as evi- dence in court.”

Also, any road accidents or events involving members of the public are recorded to allow for quicker investigation and resolution.
