It's a once-in-a- lifetime experience for many but agents should be regularly cashing in on one
of travel’s ‘must do’ experiences, says Steve Hartridge
here are few holiday experiences that more obviously immerse your clients in the lap of luxury
than an upmarket safari. After a thrilling game drive encountering Africa’s big predators and a host of smaller bush denizens, guests retire to their decadent home in the bush to enjoy features such as a four- poster bed, outdoor rain showers and, often, their own private plunge pool and ‘sala’ with sunbeds.. And if all that bouncing around on dirt
tracks beating through acacia knobthorn bushes leaves them in need of a little tender attention, a range of restorative treatments will likely be on hand at the
lodge’s spa – with the bonus of the possibility of gazing out at elephants and lions while being refreshed by a facial, ‘de-knotted’ by a Zulu massage or exfoliated by an Africology Mud Detox. Later, a gourmet candlelit dinner, al
fresco in an atmospheric boma, will be accompanied by fine wines, before a memorable day is brought to an end by the cacophonic sounds made by the bush’s cast of nocturnal creatures. And at many African luxury lodges
