Permanent make-up training


If you have clients who say they'd love to like what they see in the mirror in a morning, then permanent make-up is a great option.

Beauty Academy have moved to customised, modern premises in Drogheda, which boasts brand new training facilities.


The new layout allows for ease of movement and includes a show room, as well as a practical, theory and nail room. The shower facilities will make training much easier, allowing students to practice body treatments such as body exfoliation and wraps.


Beauty Academy recently held an open day to celebrate Linda Ennis of the Beauty Academy told IB: "Our open day was a huge success and the students are very excited about starting their training in the new premises."

Newsix-day nail course


Salon Services has launched a new six- day course for nail technicians, in association with ASP.


The course covers key areas such as salon hygiene, health and safety, basic nail anatomy, health, and physiology, client consultation, product knowledge, manicure and pedicures, tip application, UV Gel and Acrylic systems, soak-off gel and marketing.


Monica Allan, training manager at Salon Services told IB: "We're very excited that we're able to offer our customers such a comprehensive nail technician course with an industry leader such as ASP."

The Beauty Boutique Academy have welcomed two new members of staff to their team - Georgina Campbell and Elaine Baskerville.


Georgina will be looking after Myscara training for Cork and the surrounding counties, whilst Elaine will be training in Northern Ireland.


The Beauty Boutique Academy have also announced a soar in Lash in a Flash courses over the last few months. Lash in a Flash is an express eyelash extension treatment that using Galm Lash Eyelash extensions. They take only 20 to 30 minutes to apply, but last for up to two weeks.

Celebrity trainers


Some of the trainers who worked with this year's Celebrity Salon team across tanning and beauty will be conducting one and two day certificate workshops at The Midlands Training Academy along with the Academy's own team of expert lecturers.


Courses available include semi- permanent lash enhancements, tanning, threading, nail artistry and design, Indian Head Massage, media and fashion make-up, and intimate waxing. All courses include a certificate and professional salon kit where applicable, as well as qualify for CPD hours.
