Further afield in the Argentine pampas of Cordoba lies another mouth- watering adventure. Part of the Relais & Chateaux Hotel group, El Colibri Estancia de Charme, is a traditional Argentine estancia. Travellers with a wholesome palette will be delighted to know that this is a working estancia so all food is homemade using products grown in their vegetable garden and cattle carefully raised for quality meat. If being closer to nature appeals, then El Colibri gives travellers a chance to get involved. In each room is a basket and scissors so guests can harvest fruit and vegetables, join the gauchos on their daily chores with the animals and collect fresh eggs from the hens.
