Living the Argen S
teak, football, tango and a naturally smouldering disposition has come to define Argentina but it’s the gourmet cuisine that has got people talking. Tirelessly referred to as the ‘Paris of South America’, Buenos Aires, Argentina’s bustling capital defies all comparisons. Old-world cafes stand shoulder to shoulder with new fusion cuisine. It’s a city ready to explore and experiment and where better to start than with food.
Where the streets Carlos Gardel and Anchorena meet, an old restaurant from the 1890’s, ‘Chanta Cuatro’, is famous for being the regular haunt of Argentina’s most famous tango singer, Carlos Gardel. A gathering place for the colourful characters of Buenos Aires, it was a silent companion to Gardel’s nights of singing and dining. Fast forward more than 100 years later and Esquina Carlos Gardel, located in the same spot seduces travellers with its irresistible ingredients of tango and gourmet cuisine.
