WSMA News x WSMA World Café Showcase
Students had the opportunity this summer to perform as part of the 2011 Wisconsin State Fair on the World Café Stage. WSMA hosted this showcase in partnership with the Wisconsin State Fair. The event provided students with a fun and educational experience.
On August 12 groups performing on the World Café Stage included Stoughton High School Jazz Ensemble (Craig Mason, director); New Glarus Kinderchor (Kaye Gmur, director); Oneida Nation School Ensemble (Beth Bashara, director); August McGinnity Wake (folk singer from Cambridge High School); Basement Acoustic (acoustic Launchpad group from Oregon High School); Backwards (country rock Launchpad group from Seneca High School); Half Mile Portage (Celtic Launchpad group from Wilmot High School) and finally Shoot the Moon (jazz Launchpad group from Case High School, Park High School and The Prairie School of Racine).
Plans are underway for the World Café Music Showcase (August 11, 2012). For more information, contact Tim Wurgler at

x “MyCenter” Interactive Web Resource
WSMA is launching a new and advanced interactive web resource called “My Center.” This special resource will begin rolling out in September and will include a variety of features that bring greater service, networking and resources to member school contacts via its home at
www.wsmamusic.org.
User profiles – will allow users to view certain membership data and create preferences for how they would like to view and receive information specifi- cally for them through MyCenter. Connections can also be created between members (similar to how Facebook creates connections).
Historical and financial data – WSMA school district, festival and pay- ment information will be imported into the system and linked to a school for information purposes. Teachers will be able to view the school district information related to their school when they are logged in. Teachers will also be able to view the current and historical information on festivals their school has attended and payments that their school has made.
Messaging and express module – will enable announcements, forums, news feeds, photo galleries and blogs within the membership network through MyCenter.
MyCenter will be launched in phases beginning this month. Watch for official announcements via email, web and WSMA publications.
