Enormis Mobile Specialties
Enormis Mobile Specialties of Erie, Pa., is no stranger to Mo-
bile Electronics, having placed in the Top 50 or Top 100 every year since 2007. Still, “it’s nice to say I’m Top 12,” said store owner Lou Norman. Enormis has been in business since 1999 and is among the most active retailers on the web, thanks to social media, website and blogging. Norman advertises on local TV and radio and also offers up tech tips through regular appearances on the local NBC affiliate, clips from which are uploaded to Enormis’ YouTube channel. Enormis’ mantra is “give customers more than they want, pro- mote your business and be different than the other guy,” Norman said. His long-term goals are pretty simple: “more customers, more notoriety.” To that end, Norman is looking to move to a location closer to Erie’s center by 2015. “Our goals and busi- ness directions are being driven by our customer needs,” he said. “This industry changes constantly and we simply try to stay on top of growing or shrinking trends.” Norman’s advice to other retailers is simply to “find their niche and what they do best and ‘go fo it.”
