an internship. My qualifi cation has put me on the fast track – I meet a lot of music people at college and have a chance to network.
I wouldn’t have been able to fi nish my course without the City & Guilds bursary – it’s allowing me to get my qualifi cation and get out and work.
I’ve got loads of skills now – I understand all the practical and theoretical elements of sound engineering, and I’m moving on to recording live sound and pre- production. I’m also about to record a band’s EP. Doing the diploma has given me a lot of confi dence about music. I’ve learned how to deal with people in professional situations, such as with bands in a studio. In fi ve years I want to be my own boss, running my own studio.
