better! I like those daily gradual tanners that are in moisturisers, but - and I am not just saying this - I do love the Bronz’ Express Lotion! It really is amazing!
Oonagh: And what about your face?
Sorcha: Maybe my eyes? Or perhaps my lashes? No, definitely my lashes - they are curly, thick and long and really frame my eyes well, even when I am not wearing mascara. I have to admit, I do love my mascara though, but like every other Irish woman, am always looking for a good one. I am yet to find it, but am having fun searching!
Oonagh: Do you go for regular salon treatments?
Sorcha: No, I don’t at all! I can’t believe I am saying this, but I have never even had a facial!
Oonagh: Never had a Brazilian?
Sorcha: My lips are sealed. I am saying nothing! Having said that, Orla is the type who would go for a regular Brazilian! Moving on - next question, please!
Oonagh: Fair enough! I can read between the lines! As this is for Irish Beauty magazine, would you consider yourself an Irish beauty?
Sorcha: Hmmmmm! No, I would never consider myself beautiful. Actually even thinking about it makes me feel uncomfortable. Nobody has ever asked me that question before!
Oonagh: So, who is an Irish beauty?
Sorcha: Well, apart from my daughter, Stella, I think Maureen O’Hara is the epitome of Irish beauty.
Oonagh: Do you think Irish women are beautiful in general?
Sorcha: Absolutely! I think every woman is beautiful in her own way!
“I would never consider myself beautiful. Actually even thinking about it makes me feel uncomfortable.”
- Sorcha Furlong
Oonagh: Very strange that you can say every Irish woman is beautiful, yet you say you are not.
Sorcha: Maybe! But, I just don’t see myself as being beautiful. I am just not vain. OK, I can appreciate beauty in others, but the best I can do is look in the mirror when I am going out and say to myself ‘You’re not looking too bad!’
Oonagh: Finally, what do you think makes Irish women beautiful? Sorcha: Our sense of humour and our personalities. Definitely. Oh, and great skin! • Catch Sorcha in Fair City on RTÉ 1, Tuesday - Thursday & Sunday
Oonagh prescribes...
1. Daily moisturiser for dehydration: Crème Veloutée
2. Relaxing salon treat: Académíe Modeling Facial
3. Tanning: Bronz’ Express Professional Spray in PP2 for Medium or PP3 for Dark
4. To keep lashes looking good: Christian Breton Mascara in Black
5. To keep cellulite at bay: Thal’ion Body Wrap
Sorcha’s feedback... “Of course, you already know I was a fan of the Bronz’ Express tan, but had only ever used the lotion I bought in the chemist. I have been for my professional spray and LOVE it! I don’t know which depth of shade she used, but it is just fantastic!
“The mascara is OK, but I have tried better. Sorry!
“I went for my Thal’ion wrap and I would definitely go for one again, especially if I had a black tie event and I wanted to drop a dress size immediately. I lost a total of 19 inches! Crazy!
“However, my favourite of the lot is the Crème Veloutée. I think you may have a convert on your hands. Thank you so much for introducing me to it. Any chance of a discount?”
