Jedward to headline Nintendo Festival gig


X Factor stars to perform at Nintendo party in Chessington  New events include Media Molecule BAFTA talk  Peter Molyneux and Yuji Naka showcasing new games

THE INDUSTRY is preparing for the biggest London Games Festival to date.


Several new events have been added to the festival, which runs from Thursday, September 30th to Thursday, November 4th.


New dates include a Nintendo Wii party at Chessington featuring Jedward, this year’s BAFTA video game lecture by Media


Molecule, and a public review of FIFA 11 and PES 2011 in Bethnal Green. Other events include a Ben 10 premiere at Leicester Square and appearances from Peter Molyneux and Yuji Naka. London Games Festival director Kirsty Payne told MCV: “We’ve already significantly increased the number of events for both trade and consumer, and we think there’s a real benefit for everyone involved.”

DISNEY: Wii action adventure title Epic Mickey will be released on November 26th. It features a unique art style and has been produced by Warren Spector.


SQUARE ENIX: A new partnership with Chinese online games firm Shanda will officially bring the Final Fantasyseries to China for the first time. The debut release is Final Fantasy XIV, although a date has yet to be announced.


RISING STAR: Deadly Premonitionwill arrive in UK stores on October 29th for Xbox 360. The survival horror game saw strong sales in the US despite mixed reviews.


SONY: A range of new hardware is heading to Japan later this year including a 320GB classic white PS3 console, a candy pink controller and PSPs in red and black or white and blue.


SEGA: This year’s iteration of Football Managerwill be released for PC and PSP on November 5th.


EA: Suda 51 is working on a zombie shooter entitled Shadow of the Damned.

AC: Brotherhood partners with MCM Expo


MCM EXPO and Ubisoft have announced a new partnership that will see Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood headline the October show. The game has been named as official sponsor of the event. As part of this deal, Ubisoft will help to promote the upcoming expo.


The publisher will also raise awareness of Brotherhood at the event with special activities, banners and more. Consumers will be able to get some hands-on time with both the multiplayer and single-player modes of the latest Assassin’s Creed game


ahead of its release on November 19th.


“Partnering with MCM Expo is yet another way to bring Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood to life, create positive word of mouth in the run-up to release and ensure the game is front of mind,” Ubisoft brand manager Jan Sanghera told MCV.


“We have always supported MCM Expo in the UK and it’s encouraging to see it growing in popularity year-on-year. “The event brings together many forms of entertainment such as film, video games, comics and anime, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience everything under one roof.


“From our perspective, it’s about ensuring Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is seen as an essential part of this entertainment mix. It’s a fun environment, and will provide visitors the chance to engage and interact with the brand.” MCM Expo in association


with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will be held at London’s ExCeL Centre from Friday, October 29th to Sunday, October 31st.
