It’s show time
The Eurogamer Expo is back with a bigger venue and even better facilities. Kristan Reed provides a run-through of what to expect from this year’s popular consumer show…
NOW IN ITS third year, the Eurogamer Expo is back next week – and it’s bigger and better than ever. Held at London’s Earls Court this year, the show is officially the UK’s largest dedicated games event, and boasts the very best upcoming games from the world’s top publishers – all playable on the show floor.
Around 20,000 gamers will be able to get an early hands-on with the likes of Gears of War 3, Fable III, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor, Brink, Fallout: New Vegas, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and many, many more.
But it’s not just hardcore shooter and action adventures. All the top publishers are taking the opportunity to showcase numerous Kinect and Move launch titles, alongside keys new releases such as Def Jam Rapstar.
In addition to the big-name blockbusters on the show floor, the EG Expo provides a platform for some of the world’s premier game developers to talk about their upcoming titles – including the UK premiere showing of Rage by id Software. With consumers already eagerly looking forward to this year’s show, the Eurogamer Expo is the perfect event to launch the London Games Festival.
