UK SOFTWARE SALES MONITOR
Your weekly guide to the UK games software market…
The UK games market achieved its highest weekly value so far this year, up a whopping 143 per cent since last week’s low of £11.8 million. Units rose 58 per cent to 987,767.
Unsurprisingly the biggest sales driver was Microsoft’s long-awaited Halo: Reach, which debuted at the top of the charts. The market was further boosted by Sony’s new motion controller, PlayStation Move – the first major hardware launch of the season.
The industry can expect this growth to continue as a number of hotly anticipated titles arrive on shelves this week. Titles expected to perform strongly include Dead Rising 2, F1 2010and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

These are the gamers that The Games Tribe reaches. It’s about relevance and impact: targeting the exact types of gamers marketers are aiming for on each campaign.” Meanwhile, The Games
