Helen and Leo celebrated 50 years of marriage on January 6, 1991. After Leo's death, Helen married EdwardC. Brennan and they enjoyed their later years together in Gaithersburg, MD and Martinsburg, WV traveling, attending NARTU Conventions, and visiting with friends until Ed's death in 1999. Helen is survived by her son, Leon Wortman; daughters, Joan Hoyle (Neil), Mary Alice Pastore(Tom), Patricia Grodin (Mike); step-sons, Rev.Monsignor Mark Brennan and Paul Brennan (Pat); 15 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and three great great-grandchil- dren. Died September 23, 2010 at his home in Leesburg, VA.Mr. Foldenauer was born Decem- ber 26, 1928 in Streator,ILtothe late Carl and Marian Foldenauer.Heworked for FEMA for five years and practiced law in Fairfax and Prince William County for over 30 years. He is also predeceased by his wife Sally Foldenauer.


Robert is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Stratton of Fairfax County,VA; three sons Gre- gory Foldenauer of Palmer,Alaska, Andrew Foldenauer of Leesburg, VA,and Paul Foldenauer of Perth, Western Australia; sister Elizabeth Murphy of Brighton, Michigan; and five grand- children.

Passed away at Fairland Nursing-Rehab. Center, Silver Spring, on August 23, 2010 (cardio respiratory failure). Born in the Parish of St. Mary,Jamaica in 1923, she came to Washington, DC in the early 1950s, working until retirement as an honored secretary at the Embassy of India; she was also alicensed part-time cosmetologist (beautician). The devoted daughter of the late Saleem Lazarus born Lebanon (Middle East) and Justina. Her father and other immigrants of Lebanese descent set deep roots of respected citizenship in Jamaica to the present (Out of Many,One), Sister to the remarkably encourag- ing, Maria (May) Lazarus (age 103), her late son George, her adult daughter,Sissy and husband, Dr.Badih (GodBless) Shoucair,daughter Odette and their sons and families. Survived by the extensive families of the adult children of her sister,Laurice (Lou) and Phillip Azar,including supportively caring nephew,Phil Azar and nieces, Dr.Mateel Graham, Philis Ammar,Sally Asher, their helpmate spouses and many grand/great- grand nieces and nephews. Her Lazarus brothers have preceded her to the afterlife and compas- sionate relations lasted with their adult children, including Afeef, Derek Lazarus and families. She is remembered by the Spicer family headed by the late Ken and the late Winnie with whom she shared homelife and festivities in the DC/MD area with their offspring, Neil, Denzil, Cheryl and her much loved godson, the late Richard. In later years, many community angels brought her attentiveness and light, not least of whom was her mindful cardiologist, Dr Kenneth Lee, neighbor,Roland Baxter,solicitous and fellow birth-Jamaicans, Cheryl and Lorna Wint and the cheerful staff at the Fairland Home. Aformer commissioner of the Nuclear Regula- tory Commission who achieved many firsts for women in nuclear physics, died on Wednesday, September 8, 2010.


She was president of the consulting firm Strat- egy Matters and director of Energy Strategists Consultancy in Maryland, and was aboard member of Northeast Utilities, BHP Billiton and Energy Solutions, Inc. She began her 40- year career as aphysicist with the U.S. Depart- ment of Energy's Environmental Measurements Laboratory,later becoming its director.She was nominated by the president to the NRC, serving from 1991-1995.


She was recognized with the Women of Achieve- ment in Energy awardin1990, the Outstanding Woman Scientist of the Year awardin1991 and the Henry DeWolf Smyth awardfor Nuclear Statesmanship in 2003. She was apast president of the American Nuclear Society and was amember of various organizations for the peaceful advancement of nuclear energy.

Steve had asuccessful 28-year career with Northrop Grumman. Most recently, Steve managed Northrop’slargest missile defense contract, the Joint National Inte- gration Center Research and Development Contract (JRDC), at the Missile Defense Agency,Schriever Air Force Base.


Steve was married to Patricia Murray on August 8, 2008. He was an avid skier, traveled the world with his wife and Jack Russell terriers,and returned to Nebraska yearly to hunt with his dad.
