Recognizing Teacher Service (25-Year Recognition)

Wisconsin Music Educators Association is proud to recognize the following Wisconsin Teachers for 25 years of service. These teachers have cultivated a love of music in their students. The musical experiences they have shared have touched the lives of students and community members alike. On behalf of the students and communities they serve, congratulations and thank you for your dedication to music education.

Here are a few of the teachers’ proudest moments…

“Every time I meet a former student and learn that they are succeeding in life I feel that I in some small way contributed to that success.”

“I feel blessed to having had the opportunity to touch the lives of so many wonderful students.”

“I have reached the point in my career when I am now teaching students who are children of former students. It is so rewarding to see the impact that was made on these former students who make sure their child also benefits from playing an instrument.”

“I was the band director at McDonell High School in Chippewa Falls the year of the fatal bus crash. Chi- Hi and McDonnell are situated across the street from each other and share facilities and students. My band students and I worked to keep ourselves together behind the scenes, and to offer support to our neighbors in the Chi-Hi band.”

“…Our school was in possession of a large portion of the Sousa Band’s original library. As a result, we were invited to bring our band to Washington, D.C. to make a formal presentation of the manuscripts to the Librarian of Congress (complete with a concert on the steps of the Library of Congress).
