Concert Festival Student Listening Forms

The WSMA concert festival committee, along with input from the Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance committee, has revised and updated the student listening forms for choral and instrumental ensembles. The new offering serves as a springboard to develop quality concert listening skills that students could comprehend while also allowing for self-reflection and comparison in their own performance. Committee Chair Diane Goetsch of Weston commented, “Assisting music teachers in communicating what to listen for and how to discern quality is an outcome we hope to address. Teachers and students will be able to use this form in their concert festivals and for self-reflection in listening to recordings of their own performance.” The updated student listening forms may be found in the “Member Schools” section of the WSMA web site.
