Stormsaver gets involved with recycled regeneration project
Stormsaver, the UK’s leading manufacturer of rainwater harvesting systems, is delighted to announce a contract win with one of Bristol’s key city centre regeneration projects. Developed by Westmark
Developments, Cabot House will be Bristol’s greenest development. It has recently been awarded the BREEAM 2010 Award For Commercial Offices, with the UK’s highest ever-recorded rating. The new building will be constructed from over 85% recycled materials, many of which will be recovered from the previous office development. Commissioned by building services contractor, MJN Colston, Stormsaver has
been asked to supply an above-ground, non-pressurised system which will collect, on average 1500 litres of water a year, from a roof area of 2,000m2
. The collected
water will be used in the flushing of 70 toilet and urinals in the building, which will lead to an annual saving of over £2,500. Housing the Environment Agency as a tenant, the 70,000 sq ft of office space will combine a variety of environmental features alongside rainwater harvesting, such as solar panels and ground source heat pumps in order to keep running costs to a minimum and reduce carbon emissions.
MJN Colston have worked on numerous high profile projects including
the Arsenal FC Emirates Stadium, National assembly for Wales and The Eden Project. For more information on Stormsaver, please visit

bpi.recycled products reveals RWM plans
As the 2010 RWM exhibition rapidly approaches,
bpi.recycled products has revealed its plans for the annual show for the recycling and waste management sector.
At the event, which runs from the 14th to the 16th September at the NEC, the business will be promoting the impressive capabilities, knowledge and reassurance it can offer as Europe’s largest polythene waste recycler with a history in recycling extending more than 40 years. Cameron Yates, Marketing Manager at
bpi.recycled products, explains: “The waste management sector and recycling in particular is continuing to grow at an impressive rate thanks to society’s drive for increased sustainability. Whilst this is great news for the environment, it does make it harder for customers to identify the perfect partner amongst a growing sea of suppliers.
“
bpi.recycled products’ experience and infrastructure are just two of the many things that set us apart. We’ve been in the industry for over four decades and as such, our levels of expertise are unsurpassed. At the same time, as Europe’s largest polythene recycler, we operate a UK-wide network of Environment Agency accredited sites which collectively give us the ability to reprocess some 68,000 tonnes of material every year. He continues: “Customers can be confident that when they deal with us, they’re dealing with an established and reputable business that’s able to deliver — and to add significant value in the process.”
Staff on
bpi.recycled products’ stand (Stand 680) will also be promoting the sheer breadth of the business’ offer.
