Green Planet Solutions to sponsor CHSA golf day
Green Planet Solutions is celebrating the re-launch of its eco-friendly range of washroom cleaning and hygiene products by sponsoring this September’s CHSA Pro Am Golf Tournament. The Pro Am tournament, which is in its 3rd year, will take place at Oulton Hall in Yorkshire on 16th September and all proceeds will go to the CHSA’s nominated charity, ‘Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People’. The Green Planet range has been reformulated recently to produce an even better product whilst maintaining green credentials. The brand has also undergone a transformation with a new website and image. For ease of ordering, the products have a unique number and each category is colour coded. Data sheets can also be downloaded via the website. It’s an ideal range for the Facilities Management sector, as using these products instead of harsh chemicals provides companies with an easy and effective way to prove their commitment towards saving the environment. This commitment can be communicated in CSR policies and to clients and staff. In addition, these products are safer for the user and even the raw ingredients have efficacy data showing that they come from a sustainable source and when broken down they bio-degrade in our sewage systems minimising any impact to existing planet / aquatic life.
Matt Anderson, Managing Director of Green Planet Solutions takes up the story:
Sustainable Business Operations
Schal Sustainability, part of Carillion plc, has launched a new environmental benchmarking service, developed to assist businesses in ensuring their internal and external operations are in line with current environmental best practice. With sustainability at its core, Schal Sustainability has for more than a decade provided environmental assessment services for buildings during construction, ensuring that designs are environmentally- efficient and user-friendly. Responding to an increasing industry demand for its services, Schal is now sharing its accrued expertise with building managers, facilities managers and companies with medium / large property portfolios, working alongside them as BREEAM in-Use auditors whilst concurrently helping to reduce their existing buildings’ operational costs. The BREEAM In-Use model forms the framework for Schal’s new service. BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a new scheme aimed at helping building managers reduce

running costs and improve the environmental performance of existing buildings.
Since its launch in 2009, BREEAM In- Use has provided the standard for best practice in sustainable design, quickly becoming the de facto measure used to describe a building’s environmental performance. Consisting of a standard easy-to-use assessment methodology and third-party verification—provided by Schal Sustainability—BREEAM In-Use provides a clear and credible route map to improving sustainability.
Schal Sustainability’s new
environmental benchmarking services benefits from being overseen by BRE, BREEAM’s Conceptual Parent Company, who will ensure that the standards of assessment are continually improved to reflect all recent advances in sustainability. From its decade at the heart of this burgeoning business sector, Schal Sustainability is passionate about how the environmental performance of an organisation’s built assets can be the

equal, if not better, to more conventional alternatives but give those with a green conscience, or those who are looking to reduce their impact on the environment, a credible option.”
The CHSA golf day is renowned as being one of the best on the calendar and has gone from strength to strength each year. Both CHSA members and allied industries take part in teams and the tournament always sells out very quickly. Graham Fletcher, secretary of the CHSA comments: “We’re delighted to have Green Planet Solutions as our tournament sponsor this year. Shaun Chatterton, Chief Executive of Green Planet Solutions and CPD plc, is a long standing supporter of the CHSA and has served as chairman over the recent years. We’re really excited that he and Matt have chosen the tournament to re-launch the brand.”

consultancy also prides itself on an in-depth
knowledge of the costs associated with
operating a building — with soaring energy prices
and the current gloomy economic outlook, cutting energy, water, waste and other associated overheads can be a relatively easy way of improving profitability. This whole-of-life approach has recently gained Schal recognition at the 2010 BRE awards for the first International BREEAM In Use project, carried out on the British Embassy in Berlin.Tel: +44 (0)20 8256 4300 Email:
