OFFSHORE ICE-RESISTANT OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION FACILITIES FROM RUBIN
In the last years, strong consid- eration is given to a prospective trend in oil and gas production – development of natural resources on the continental shelf. There are unique stocks of oil and gas on the shelf of the country and their extraction will take more than a decade. At the same time, the Rus- sian shelf has its special features from the viewpoint of natural conditions. Severe ice situation is typical for Arctic and Far East- ern fields. The ice conditions are aggravated, for example, on the Sakhalin shelf, by seismic activity. This creates considerable engi- neering difficulties during devel- opment of oil and gas producing platforms. Having the unrivalled expertise in the design of sophis- ticated marine equipment, CDB ME Rubin has joined the design and construction process for such platforms since the 1980s. At present, design of offshore ice- resistant oil and gas production facilities is one of the priority lines in CDB ME Rubin activities. CDB ME Rubin takes an active part in the design work for the devel- opment of fields on the North- ern and Far Eastern shelves of the Russian Federation (projects Sakhalin-1, Sakhalin-2, Prira- zlomnoye Field, Shtokman Field). During execution of this work, CDB ME Rubin solves difficult engineering problems in coopera- tion with the Russian Maritime
