Integrated Comprehensive Ship Automation Systems

Manufactured by JcS concern avrora Scientific and Production aSSociation

Integration of Automation Systems The Government of the Russian Federa- tion has adopted a number of programmes aimed at development of the Russian ship- building and among them the programmes of great importance are those of manufac- turing the competitive home-made com- mercial marine equipment. The essential condition for the develop- ment of the modern maritime equipment is integration of control systems and equipment into the unified interconnect- ed functional and technological com- plex. The foundation for this should be constituted of the modern technologies of information development and control complexes which should combine the functionalities of navigation and dynamic positioning and those of control systems of main and auxiliary propulsion plants, ship technical facilities, cargo handling and other ship equipment.

Structure of Integrated Automation Systems JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Produc- tion Association, the former FSUE Avrora Corporation Science & Production, from the moment of its foundation until now has been traditionally developing and supplying the integrated control systems ensuring motion control and that of

dynamic positioning, main and auxiliary propulsion plants, commercial and naval ships’ technical facilities. At present, JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Production Association develops and supplies integrated complexes of control systems which contain integrated bridge systems. The technological processes integrated control systems (TP ICS) developed by JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Produc- tion Association ensure automation of the main control processes, such as: – ship navigation along with providing navigational safety;

– ship dynamic positioning; – diesel and electric propulsion plants with propeller-rudders (PR) and controllable- pitch propellers (CPP);

– ship electric power generation and distribution;

– auxiliary machinery and systems attend- ing the propulsion system etc. The integrated complex of automation facilities developed by JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Production Association includes the following: – integrated navigation complex (INC); – ship motion and/or dynamic positioning integrated control system (SM and DP ICS);

– integrated control system of power gen- eration and distribution plant, technical

facilities, cargo handling and emergency and warning signaling (TF ICS).

Cooperation for Development of Integrated Ship Automation Complexes Development of high-performance and competitive integrated ship automation and electrical equipment complexes under the present conditions is impossible with- out collaboration and broad cooperation with other firms and companies special- izing in manufacturing of commercial maritime equipment. Several enterprises, such as JCS Varyag Plant , JSC Neptun Plant, SUIP Closed Compa- ny, JSC Component ACS and JSC AvroMKS, are united into the JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Production Association. A consortium with Transas Closed Company has been es- tablished for supply of pilot house integrated control consoles navigation, communication and video surveillance equipment complexes, signal, side and marker lights, deck machinery and anchor gear and other equipment. JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Produc- tion Association (parent enterprise) is able to take upon the functions of the system integrator and it ensures complete delivery, setting-to-work and commissioning of the Integrated Complexes to the Customer as well as their warranty and post-warranty maintenance and repairs. JSC Concern Avrora Scientific and Produc- tion Association has provided all the conditions required for the development of the modern competitive integrated ship automation and electrical equipment complexes, i.e.: – the concern has been established which unites the manufacturers of the commer- cial maritime equipment;

– the modern item-specific assembling of commercial maritime equipment has been organized;

– the universal modular structures of control consoles have been developed, which make it possible to implement the bridge systems in compliance with the require- ments of the customers – the ship owners, the shipbuilders and the design bureaus.
