Zvyozdochka is also expe- rienced in building ocean- going yachts. One of such yachts was manufactured jointly and on the request of Hotchya Shipyard. The commercial shipbuilding potential is augmented by the availability of in-house propeller-processing facility. Thus many of building ships are equipped with the Zvyoz- dochka-produced propellers. Now the facility is loaded with orders for delivery of propellers both to Russian and foreign customers. The Shipyard is now more and more actively involved in a new direction of activity – production of rudder pro- pellers in cooperation with one of European companies. More than 22 thousand of

propellers have been manu- factured for ships and vessels of different purposes and classes including the largest ones in the world. However special attention is paid to the production of equipment for oil and gas
exploration on sea shelf. Nowadays the Shipyards is completing construction of the Arkticheskaya jack-up self- elevating drilling unit for JSC Gazflot. This is a very impor- tant and large-scale project not only for Zvyozdochka but the shipbuilding industry in general. Its implementation clearly shows great potential of the Shipyard in this sphere. This direction of activity will be developed even faster after beginning of exploita- tion of the Shtokman gas and condensate field as provision of necessary facilities for the field will require many hun- dreds of tons of sophisticated designs never produced in
Russia before.
