Terry Doherty Executive Director, The Reading Tub Inc. www.thereadingtub.com

Terry Doherty loves to read and is inspired by books, so when she had the chance to share her passion with others, she took it. In 2001, Terry traded in her nearly 20-year career in government service for the all-important job of being Mom. The flexibility of being a Stay-at-Home-Mom allowed Terry to pursue her lifelong love of reading and literacy. What started as special time shar-

ing books with her (then) infant daughter is today The Reading Tub, Inc., a thriving public charity dedicated to children’s literacy and family reading. When she’s not reading, writing, or coordinating other literacy work for her Website, The Reading Tub®, you will find her tutoring at-risk elementary students in reading, facilitating book drives, and crafting other community-based literacy projects.
