Aqua-Adventures Offers New Activities for Teens

qua-Adventures is partnering with Ikuna Koa Out- rigger Canoe Club to offer a Teen Excursion Beach Camp for ages 12-16 years old. These camps offer positive summer experiences for teens that offer new friendship opportunities and athleticism. Sponsored by We Are Coaches, the Aqua-Adventures Teen Excursion Beach Camp offers excursions to many local coastal hot spots, including surfi ng and body boarding at 15th Street in Del Mar, snorkeling and kayaking at La Jolla Cove, and hiking and swimming at Torrey Pines. This year’s
adventure includes a day of experiencing Hawaiian culture fi rst-hand by learning to outrigger paddle in Mission Bay with the Ikuna Koa Outrigger Canoe Club.

Parents Paddle Boarding Playgroup Offered

arlsbad Stand Up Paddle Board Club is offering a paddle boarding playgroup for parents from 9 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday during the summer. As a special sum- mer promotion, the club is offering paddle board and kayak rentals for $10 per hour to parents who bring their children during the playgroup hours. No paddle boarding experience is necessary, and the club is a kid-friendly place on the lagoon that offers close parking and bathrooms. Parents should bring chairs, sand toys and life jackets.

Jeffrey Armstrong’s New Avatar Book Hits Stores in June

effrey Armstrong’s book, Spiritual Teachings of the Avatar, is
scheduled to be released on June 29. Armstrong combined his
knowledge of Vedic philosophy and Indian culture to create a book that enlightens readers on the meaning and relevance of the Avatar, a Divine Being that descends from the transcenden- tal realm to restore peace and harmony to the Earth. Armstrong is the founder of the Vedic Academy of Sci-
ences and Arts. He was teaching a series of classes on the subject of Avatars when James Cameron’s groundbreaking fi lm of the same name was released in theaters. Acting upon the suggestion of a student, Armstrong went to see the movie and used the revelations that Cameron describes to write a book on the subject for a general audience.
