Meet the buyer at the ebf

KEY STAKEHOLDERS in the schools modernisation programme will come together later this year at

the education building forum, a

new networking event taking place on the 4th and 5th November at Chesford Grange Hotel in Leamington Spa. More than 150 project

The contract to deliver the programme has been awarded to a consortium led by the Eden Project.

FIVE THOUSAND “green work placements” are available to young people aged 14 to 19 in a DCSF partnership with the Eden Project, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the RSPB, the Institute for Education Business Excellence and a number of interested businesses. The £2m Green Talent scheme is intended to nurture and inspire the environmental leaders of tomorrow and connect them with job opportunities in the emerging green economy. The first young people will begin their placements this autumn. They will join a two-day interactive placement at one of six top environmental centres across England, discovering how people are dependent on nature and how we need to appreciate and nurture the environment. The two days at the centres will be

followed by three days of work experience with select companies around the country, to witness how businesses are already changing to more sustainable operations and how such trends affect future career choices.

parties maximise their time at the event, says Toby Filby, managing director of edb

magazine and the Stable Events group. “The ebf will be the most time efficient and cost effective business event of the year in the educational building sector.” Conveniently located in the heart of the Midlands just minutes from the M40 and M42, the Chesford Grange has recently undergone a £6m refurbishment, providing a professional and luxurious venue for the ebf.
