Obsidian Wireless in ComputerTel link up

CALL recording and quality moni- toring software firm ComputerTel has partnered with mobile call recording firm Obsidian Wireless to create an integrated ‘in box’ mobile voice recording solution. Notably, ComputerTel’s call

recording system shares a core hardware platform with Obsidian’s technology, which means that the Obsidian Mobile Interface Gateway plugs directly into the ComputerTel server, without the need for a separate interface. Dave Brown, Chief Operating

Officer of Obsidian Wireless, stat- ed: “Our two technologies are com-

patible and form a fully integrated combined solution, which offers a more seamless and resilient option for the customer.” He noted that ComputerTel is not only a key technology partner, but also a sales partner that will take Mobile Compliance Suite into new and existing client opportunities. Philip Haynes, MD of ComputerTel, commented on the agreement: “The addition of the Obsidian mobile recording as an integrated module of our record- ing solution allows us to provide complete cover of a company’s total recording requirements.”

Union Street staffs up

UNION Street Technologies has recruited four new experienced support staff to help comms providers make the transition from Openreach WLR2 to WLR3 access. Openreach will withdraw WLR2 on 30th June 2011, by which time all comms providers must migrate to WLR3. Openreach advises that CPs should have completed the move by 31 March 2011. Tony Cook, Union Street MD, said: “The transition to WLR3 represents a major challenge for our customers. Support for Samsung at Nimans

NIMANS and Rocom have bol- stered their support structure for Samsung resellers with the intro- duction of a dedicated in-house licence key delivery process (on a trial basis), designed to speed-up on-site installations. Jonathan Beatson, Samsung

Business Manager at Nimans and Rocom, said: “We have boosted our presence in the south of England with additional manpower, and have also started to produce our own licence keys. Resellers will be able to have them sent out with systems, saving their engineers time and money.” A Samsung scrappage scheme also aims to stimulate new business. By upgrading a customer’s existing phone system with an equally sized Samsung platform the chassis will be offered free of charge.

Another scheme that aims to

drive sales is Samsung’s Road to Budapest incentive. Resellers who register accumulate points for each sale. The Top 10 highest perform- ers will win an all expenses paid VIP four-day luxury break to the Hungarian capital later this year.
