feature vendor - core’dinations
Anthony loves telling the story, “I actually had the idea for “sandable” (my new word), dyed
cardstock many years ago. However, I faced two major challenges: developing the product line,
and finding the financial backing to bring it to life. Initially, I didn’t know if some collections in
the product line were even possible to manufacture. Furthermore, I wasn’t sure if the concept
was producible without being cost prohibitive. So, several years ago, I began my research and
development. I had already been working in the paper industry for many years prior; however, I
knew conventional manufacturing processes were not going to work. I quickly realized this was going
to require a culmination of processes, and experimental materials, to achieve the desired products,
and keep costs reasonable. Long story short, I worked with overseas testing facilities, spent months
modifying existing production machinery, experimented with various substrates, and ultimately
created the Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock product lines.”
“Then, I was on to step two. I had to find a partner to fund and support this multi-million dollar
project. I wanted an existing business, not involved in the scrapbook industry, but with all of the
infrastructure and funds necessary to “hit the ground running”. Early in 2007, I found that partner
in Liberty Distributors, Inc. They were a 20-year-old business, which began as a distributor, as the
name would imply. The Peluchette family founded the business, and grew Liberty into a diversified,
flourishing business, with multiple warehouses and locations. I always enjoy telling people about
the business divisions of Liberty. We sell everything, from scrapbook products to jan/san supplies,
printing and writing paper, packaging supplies, and prison food…..yes, prison food!”
“Now, with the perfect partner, the real work began. Over the next year, I spent more than four
months away from home establishing our overseas locations, and perfecting our manufacturing
processes. The hard work has paid off. The acceptance of Core’dinations, in a product category,
dominated by one company for so long, has been phenomenal. To see that others loved the product
line as much as I did, was extremely rewarding. I think the industry was ready for something new and
innovative in cardstock.”
The best aspect of Core’dinations; it can be used as a regular sheet of cardstock, or you can customize
it, using dozens of different techniques. Whether you emboss and sand, edge distress, cut and peel,
outline, score, stencil, antique, tear, or use any of the other techniques on Core’dinations, you can
add your own personal touch, and create “expert” looking projects. Core’dinations has managed
to give their premium, heavy weight cardstock, all this extra added value, while maintaining a
wholesale price, which, in many cases, is less expensive than regular dyed cardstock.
“My ideas for new, innovative products, knows no
shortage,” Anthony continued, “Anyone who has
enjoyed the Core’dinations products up to this point
is in for a real treat over the next year. If anyone is not
familiar with the Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock
product lines, I encourage you to visit the website at
www.coredinations.com.”
