that we need to make in our lives.

Monday 5th
The rapid depletion of non-renewable mineral resources, forests and
wetlands, and the deterioration in air and water quality (especially in Eastern
Europe and China) pose serious long-term problems that governments and
peoples are only beginning to address. Lord, help us to respond with urgency.
Tuesday 6th
The onrush of technology – in computers, robotics, telecommunications,
medicines and medical equipment which mostly benefit wealthy nations
is widening the gulf with countries unable to adjust to these
technological forces. Guide us Lord as we create an evermore disparate
world.
Wednesday 7th
The key that unlocks the human heart unlocks the heart of God as well.John
Chrysostom. So let us begin with our own heart and mirror God in what we
can become
Thursday 8th
The global population of refugees runs to many millions, with an
estimated 1.5 million Iraqi refugees alone displaced throughout the
Middle East. Let us pray and act to enable these refugees to have a stable
life from now onwards.
Friday 9th
Approximately 800,000 people, mostly women and children, are trafficked
annually across national borders, not including millions trafficked within their
own countries. 75% are trafficked into commercial sexual exploitation. Let us
continue to negotiate with governments to reduce trafficking globally.
Saturday 10th
Over-population, industrial disasters, pollution (air, water, acid rain, toxic
substances), loss of vegetation, erosion and global warming are becoming
a greater concern for the planet. Lord, help us to respond with wisdom.
