and wisely, with the aim of safeguarding and not destroying our shared earth.
May they create and maintain peace, not war, during their terms of office.
Tuesday 22nd
Creator God, forgive us for the ways in which we continue to destroy your
world. Help us to be selfless stewards, that future generations might
enjoy its provision and beauty.
Wednesday 23rd
We who live in the northern hemisphere use 40 times more of the world’s
resources than those in the poorest countries. Ask God’s forgiveness and pray
that we will have the will to change our lifestyle for the benefit of all.
Thursday 24th
The world’s population stands at just over six billion, having doubled in
the last 50 years and there are 266 different nations. Our planet’s
resources cannot support all the people fairly if we do not change our
lifestyles. Pray today for solutions to this complex problem and for our
own will to change.
Friday 25th
Pray for those involved in relief operations where natural disasters have
occurred. Ask the Lord to grant them strength and courage as they work to
save and sustain lives in the midst of destruction and loss.
Saturday 26th
The numbers of critically endangered species of flora and fauna are
increasing. Pray for those working to protect the animals and plants of
God’s creation.
