MHM FUELS MILES HIRE
Miles Hire has taken delivery of a fleet of fuel storage and distribution products from MHM Plant for its Swansea, Cardiff and Bridgend depots. The company, which won a special Award for Outstanding Customer
Service in the 2019 Executive Hire Show Passionate Hirer Awards, has bought an initial five Fuel Caddi units for the safe delivery of fuel by its maintenance teams when refuelling generators, heaters and plant. The intermediate bulk container
(IBC) has a 105-litre capacity and delivers fuel via a hand pump, hose and nozzle. The product has fork lift pockets and lifting eyes, and MHM says the Fuel Caddi can be delivered, full of fuel, without the need for a driver to have ADR training. Director Ryan Miles said, “We first
spotted the Fuel Caddi at the Executive Hire Show in February.
We were immediately impressed with its easy manoeuvrability and safe storage of fuel. We initially purchased them for our own use, but we can see potential opportunities to hire these out.”
More Mecalacs for CP Hire
Coleraine-based CP Hire has placed an order for 95 Mecalac site dumpers which will be offered at its depots throughout the British Isles. The deal, which comprises 85 models with ROPS protection and
10 cabbed machines, was secured by local dealer Sleator Plant, which has supplied the hirer with more than 250 Mecalac dumpers over the past two years. John Rawnsley, MD of CP Hire (GB) Ltd, said, “Our latest site
dumper order comprises a mix of 1, 3, 6 and 9-tonne ROPS models, alongside a number of Mecalac’s new MDX cabbed units.” CP Hire’s depots in Northern Ireland are located at Ballymena,
Banbridge, Belfast, Coleraine, Derry, Magherafelt and Mid-Ulster (Tamnamore), and it also operates branches in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Newbury and Swansea.
AJC EasyCabin celebrates
AJC EasyCabin has produced a special book tracing its history as the business celebrates its 55th anniversary. The fascinating publication traces the origins of the operation from 1963 when Albert James Carey produced a small towable trailer that rapidly proved popular. After establishing a factory in Houghton Regis, near Leighton
Buzzard in 1964, production steadily developed into trailers for tents, camping equipment and gliders and, from 1987, catering and utility trailers (pictured). Growth accelerated in 1990 when Albert Carey’s grandson, Jav Samsa (currently MD) joined in 1990. AJC introduced its EasyCabin welfare unit range in 2007,
necessitating a move to larger premises in Luton which were expanded in 2015, and the brand has become firmly established in the hire market. EHN included an article on the company’s history in our July/August 2014 issue to mark its 50th anniversary.
Hatz proves the Professional choice
Specialist equipment hirer, Professional Plant Services of Roydon, Essex, has developed a new restricted access piling rig powered by a Hatz 4H50TIC Silent Pack low-emission diesel engine. Entitled the Warrior, the machine has been specifically designed
for piling work in basements or for underpinning in confined areas. It is fully remote controlled. MD Karl Dunstan said, “By ensuring that a large percentage of
our fleet has the same engine, this enables us to carry less parts and the fitters are familiar with it.” Professional Plant Services specialises in foundation equipment and offers this alongside general plant and tool hire.
