Latest products Nilfisk vacuum from HSC
The Hire Supply Company’s (HSC) range includes the Nilfisk Attix 33-2 M-class vacuum. Most common construction jobs create high dust levels and these often involve the use of power tools like cut-off saws, grinders, breakers and sanders. On-tool extraction is an effective control measure. The Attix 33-2M
has a 33-litre, sealed dust system with semi- automatic filter cleaning, and is designed to meet the tough requirements of the hire industry. Its washable PTFE long-life filter and dual Hepa filter
option is designed to minimise maintenance and reduce service costs. A flow sensor, with combined acoustic and LED alerts, monitors the filter and air flow for optimum performance.

Hycon’s silica dust suppression kits can be attached to all the manufacturer’s hand-held breakers. They are designed to spray minimal amounts of water on to the work area to minimise workers’ exposure to harmful dust before it becomes airborne. There are three variants, one for the HH10 breaker, another for the HH15
to HH27 models, and the third for the HH35 breaker.

Makita hammers it home
Having been selected for Innovation Trail - Live at the Executive Hire Show, and announced as Star Product of the Year at the Speedy Hire Expo, Makita’s DHR400ZKU cordless twin 18V (36V) 40mm SDS-Max rotary demolition hammer won the HAE Hire Awards of Excellence Hire Product of the Year category. Powered by two Makita 18V LXT batteries, the tool is the
first cordless SDS-Max rotary demolition hammer to be launched by the manufacturer including its AVT anti-vibration technology. Performance is said to be equivalent to that of a 40mm mains powered machine. When hammer drilling into concrete, it has a quoted HAV rating of 5.0m/s2
and, being cordless, it avoids dangers
associated with trailing leads. The DHR400ZKU has Makita’s Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) enabling it to connect to compatible dust extractors via Bluetooth. Once paired, the unit will automatically start when the trigger on the hammer is pulled. Makita has also introduced SDS-Plus and SDS-Max dust
extraction drill bits for drilling into concrete. They have a hollow core to remove dust from the hole when connected to a dust extractor. The range includes 18 drill bits from 12mm to 35mm in diameter and 325mm to 900mm in length.
