P&P LIVE! 2020 Review

Celebrating 25 years in the garment decoration industry, we launched our new Work-Guard stand this year: customers hoovered up brochures and technical information on the range which showcased its colour co-ordinated Mix and Match range and launched its latest super stretch chino trouser and shorts as well as new printable Safe-Guard safety softshell. We are proud to return again to the most important show of the year – it allows us to meet all aspects of the industry, learn what garment decorators want and show off our own prediction for the year ahead.

Second successful appearance at P&P LIVE!

S Colour made its second appearance at P&P LIVE! since its 2018 UK launch. Audited stand visits increased by 43% versus 2019, with many decorators keen to open accounts due to requests by for the brand from their own customers, many of whom had seen the full range in the Shoreditch shop, always a good sign that the brand is gaining traction.

Of particular interest to customers was the best-selling 5001 Staple

T, a go to for many DTG printers. Two major retailers booked orders using this shirt as a white label option for licenses that they needed a just in time option for.

Just one week after the show 53 new trade accounts were opened. It was a huge success and AS Colour has already rebooked for 2021 and anticipate meeting a lot more existing customers than this year.

A Another great show

maya had another great Printwear & Promotion LIVE! with all products creating a lot of interest. The Kornit HD6 Avalanche created huge crowds wanting to see the impressive quality and intense colours of its CMYKRG + white set up.

High interest was also shown in the recently launched Kornit Avalanche PolyPro for high quality polyester DTG printing. Customers requiring less production could see the latest Texjet Echo 2 and Texjet Shortee 2 from Polyprint.

The new Melco EMT16X was demonstrated and as usual created great interest in its modular design and efficient production. The Melco as always been the fastest multihead available but the new enhancements allow for increased production. Showing for the first time on Amaya’s stand was the Roland DG SG2-300 Print and Cut together with the Roland VersaUV printers.

The team reported that it was difficult to see their Forever and Oki stand because of the amount of people wanting demonstrations. On display was the full range of Oki white toner printers including the latest Oki 9541WT A3 XL. And finally, Amaya also showed its range of SEF garment film and flock which is water-based and contains no solvents. Together with SEF Amaya offers the full range of Graphtec cutters and Stahls’ heat presses.

Lance Dentith of LS Prints shakes hands with Dean Sanger of Sabur Digital after purchasing a DGI Poseidon

After exhibiting at P&P LIVE! for over a decade, this year was by far our best show to date with sales both on and off the stand. Sunday was always associated with ‘window shoppers’, but we now see the first day as both the busiest and best day for us with a significant increase in prospects. Lots of visitors on the stand on a Sunday are good old honest hard-working companies that simply don’t have the time through the week to visit exhibitions. These bread and butter companies showed lots of interest in both the Roland DG SG2-300 and the Mimaki UJF-3042 that we had on the stand. However, the crowd pleaser was the DGI Poseidon that we had on the stand printing dye sublimated sportswear at over 80sq m. People not involved in the sublimation industry could not believe that the football kit on the mannequin was the same as what was coming off the printer. ‘Some sort of magic’ was the phrase of the day.

The DGI Poseidon proved so popular that one visitor to the show Lance Dentith of LS Prints in Keighley shook hands on a Poseidon to add to his other two DGI FT printers. He added that the DGI build quality and service provided by Sabur was second to none, a great testament indeed.

We are pleased to report we had a good show, so much so we had an extra member of staff this year to cope with demand! Our portable EM1010 received great interest with a £500 discount and free cap frame and free machine stand, as did our new model Ricoma SWD with massive 800x500mm sewing area. Sales for the Ricoma 1501TC were up on last year and we were inundated with enquiries for our latest range of Magna Hoops and fast frames. Many of this year’s enquiries were from people who are not already in the embroidery business which is a pleasing sign that embroidery is still a growing industry. Roll on 2021, we are excited for next year’s show already.

P Another great show!

rintwear & Promotion Live 2020 proved to be another great show for Rowlinson Knitwear! There have been several developments in the company’s schoolwear range, with the introduction of blazers in late 2019. Rowlinson also showcased a new service for schoolwear retail customers, which is the stocked specials service.

Rowlinson showcased its recently launched blazer range which comprises of two blazer styles; Performa Eco Blazers, a classic three-patch pocket blazer with an outer made from 100% recycled polyester, and Performa Eco Jackets, a tailored academy style blazer also with an outer made of 100% recycled polyester. Finally, the team was pleased to meet many corporatewear customers. As demand for high quality and durable knitted workwear continues to grow, the Performa Exec knitwear, and Performa 50 garments remain popular choices for smart and long-lasting corporatewear.
