Transfer printing
A whole myriad of transfers, films and vinyls, both old favourites and new comers, were on display at P&P LIVE! this year.
Dae Ha UK showcased eight new films that were introduced late last year. Of particular interest to visitors was One Flex HTV. This user-friendly PU film spearheads Dae Ha’s constant drive to introduce the latest HTVs. The range features 42 colours, including five neons, and easy to see plotter cut lines. It is very easy to weed with a medium/ low release film. Over on Doro Tape’s stand was where Poli-Flex Turbo was receiving its exhibition debut. Manufacturer Poli-Tape has developed a specialised adhesive that allows the film to be heat pressed in only three to five seconds at comparatively low temperatures. As Paul Houghton, technical sales, said: “This definitely provided many customers, both existing and new, the perfect solution to all-round garment decoration.” While over on Target Transfers’ stand, visitors could explore the company’s range of new HTVs, which included 10 new Glitter colours, brand new Stretch Metallic, brand new Silicone 100 and four new Flock Colours.
New plotter/ cutters and heat presses could also be found on display throughout the exhibition. On Dae Ha’s stand visitors crowded around the Rhinotec RC Xa-Series of plotter cutters. With their futuristic design, they proved to be a big hit.
SkyCut C-Series And finally, Target
Transfers introduced visitors to the new standard in hat heat presses. The 360 IQ Hat Heat Press features a 360° print area, which lets users print the front, back and sides of caps without removing it from the press. Other features include a moulded platen to reduce creasing and scorching and independently controlled upper and lower heated platens.

As Peter Wright, managing director of Amaya, commented: “It was difficult to see our Forever and Oki stand because of the amount of people wanting demonstrations.” Amaya also demonstrated the new Texjet Shortee 2, offering a low-cost entry into the DTG market. Although small in size it still gives A3+ size printing onto tees, hoodies, sweats etc. It is not an upgrade from the previous model, but is 90% a new system.
