Focus on Industrial & Safetywear

Demand for readily available ladies styles is on the increase is on the increase according to Tranemo

Winning workwearways W

Opening our look at the latest garments for heavy industries is Danny Hemmings, sales director of Tranemo. He explores the latest trends in this market.

common factor that unites these two is the trend towards longer lasting work garments that offer durability, comfort and functionality.

orkwear principally comes down to two different options – hazard and non-hazard based. The

industry, etc. When we develop ranges, we start by understanding the end user’s issues within that sector, then developing the best possible solutions for them.

While there is always a drive towards style, the biggest trend we see is the demand for hazard specific workwear – especially for Flame Retardant (FR) garments made from inherent fabrics (where the protection lasts the lifetime of the garment). Tranemo is Europe's leading manufacturer of FR/ Arc Flash clothing and we have many years’ experience in developing and manufacturing high quality workwear. Our strong belief is there is not a 'one garment fits all' scenario – we believe in creating different ranges specific to applications – such as working with electricity, with molten metal, needing high-visibility, working in the rail

Furthermore, we see a growing trend towards environmental impact of clothing at all stages of the supply chain. The most significant impact we can all make environmentally is to make and use fewer garments – which can be achieved by using garments that have a longer life span. The cost in use analysis of a better quality garment often means that a user will spend less money in the long term. So users wear better quality garments that last longer – meaning fewer garments produced meaning less impact on the environment – so everyone wins!

Another trend we see in the UK is that more and more users demand readily available ladies styles in workwear. Tranemo has been at the forefront of this for many years and all our core FR ranges offer ladies sizes as stock options.
