The Industry Recommends What the industry recommends

Have you ever wondered what products to use when it comes to a particular method of garment decoration? Wonder no more as the industry recommends its top products, along with some top tips.

KUSTOM KIT Kustom Kitʼs Fashion Fit Tees have a soft handling blend of polyester and cotton, which makes the perfect surface for any decoration method. When DTG printing on these tees, Kustom Kit recommends: ● For dark garments, add one layer of pre-treatment to the desired

printing area as this provides a good base for the DTG print. ● Cure the ink with a light pressure to prevent dye migration from the polyester.

RTP APPAREL The RTP shirts are individually poly bagged to help protect the fabric. The best way to keep your RTP garments is to store them in the individual bags in the box, out of direct sunlight. Storage in the same environment as the printer should be fine. Just before printing heat press at the same temperature you cure your

ink for 10-30 seconds to remove all of the moisture in the shirts. Depending on which ink you are using a light mist of water before heat pressing may help flatten fibres for white ink that is low in pigment. Do not over handle the shirts which can rough up the shirt surface resulting in fibres popping up. You may also find you need to adjust some of your ink deposit settings to achieve the best printing results. Cure the printed shirt per the ink manufacturer's recommended settings. Washing before wearing will remove any stiffness from the heat press.

The team at Your Embroidery Services Ltd recommends using the Gildan 100% soft-style ring spun cotton T shirt for DTG printing. The material is thick and has a nice tight weave and doesnʼt have excessive fibres making this method ideal. Just press the garment for five seconds, pre-treat with 19g of pre-treatment fluid. Press again for 20 seconds and then place into your printer and dry according to ink specifications. Voila! www.yesltd.co.uk
