P&P LIVE! 2017 review

For us, Printwear & Promotion LIVE! 2017 didnʼt disappoint and all the work that went into the design, production and running of the exhibition stand was definitely worthwhile.

Being a veteran of exhibiting at many shows and having a stand near to the rear

of the hall, I know what to expect. Usually it takes a while for visitors to make their way to the stand. However, on Sunday we seemed busy from the off and this carried on through most of the day not quietening down till 3ish. The next two days, although not so busy saw us take a good number of leads from family businesses right up to multi-nations; a really good mix of businesses.

Lucky winner of Ornʼs Guess the Stitches competition announced

P

enny Hunt of Uniformed Clothing was announced as the lucky winner of flights

for two to New York (to the value of £1,500) courtesy of Orn International. At P&P LIVE! Orn successfully

ran a competition inviting visitors to guess the number of stitches embroidered on its Eagle 10XL polo shirt (code: 1150) as worn by the Statue of Liberty. The total number of stitches were counted at 311,107. Penny very closely guessed 310,957 – only 150 stitches out. The competition was a huge attraction to Ornʼs powerfully designed stand featuring

Jane Peters, Jonathan Hunt and Penny Hunt

a giant eagle with wings that sheltered the companyʼs main selling garments. The Guess the Stitches competition attracted more than 1,500 entries.

New products a real hit with visitors F

ruit of the Loom was one of the big names once again at P&P LIVE! The brand brought along its entire range

of colourful Ts, polos, shirts, sweats and fleece. The new Lightweight Baseball Sweat Jacket proved a real hit with visitors as did the brandʼs new range of socks. Visitors to stand which perfectly reflected the brands colourful theme everything under the sun was diverse ranging from small print shops and largest distributors. As well as samples many were delighted to take away the giveaways which included Fruit of the

Loom beach bags and flip flops. It was a great opportunity to meet the team from across Europe and a chance for new customers to find out what the brand has to offer in terms of marketing support through its Fruit Club. A spokesman said: “The show is a perfect environment to meet customers new and old. The calibre of visitors is very high, you know people are here to do business. “We were busy throughout the show, itʼs

a real reflection of the confidence and buoyant nature of the market at the moment.”

We are extremely pleased with our first exhibition at Printwear & Promotion LIVE! 2017. We clearly were offering a new opportunity to show visitors – or so they kept telling us over the busy three days! Visitors to the stand were very excited to learn they have access to

premium outdoor brands at trade prices. The core ranges available are ideal for co-branding and corporate use. Many people we met said they have provided decoration on stock previously supplied by their clients, which was purchased from retail, so the option of accessing these items at trade prices is a great opportunity. We also met with some existing customers which gave us the opportunity to catch

up introduce new products and brands to them. The majority of people we spoke to, however, had not heard about us and we are excited to be working with over 190 new customers as a result of being at the show!

rintwear & Promotion LIVE! 2017 proved to be another successful event for Nova Chrome UK, with much

interest from visitors old and new alike. This well timed event provided the perfect opportunity to display the capabilities of dye sublimation printing to the wider community, as well as introducing new products to existing customers. The three day event was packed with live demonstrations of the process, with help and advice given by Nova Chromeʼs knowledgeable staff and was ultimately rewarded with a strong series of quality leads and interested visitors looking to add small (and large) format sublimation printing to their existing portfolio. Of particular interest was Nova Chromeʼs A1 Heat Transfer Press and the Sawgrass Virtuoso VJ628, with several systems having been sold as a result of the show. Nova Chromeʼs systems span from A4 desktop units, through to 25in printers, which appealed to a broad segment of those attending the show. Further, the ability to decorate substrates from textiles through to acrylics, wood, plastics, aluminium and more proved to be a major draw, with many visitors commenting on the quality and vibrancy of the end products.

P&P LIVE! was a resounding success for the Xpres and Kustom Kit teams. The

footfall of visitors to the stand exceeded all expectations, to point that extra badge scanners had to be ordered. It was great to see so many existing customers stopping by to see what was new and expressing their loyalty to us. For new customers, the show was the perfect platform to introduce the variety of products and garments offered by Xpres and Kustom Kit. The visitor base was knowledgeable

and many were interested in specific applications, which was the ideal opportunity to provide practical demonstrations. This hands-on approach was the fundamental objective of the stand design, which was based upon a working production environment.
