P&P LIVE! 2017 review

Printwear & Promotion LIVE! 2017 really set the bar as the liveliest and most exciting show yet! Enjoying a brand new look and feel our stand saw a record number of visitors.

The garment embellishment and promotional industry being what it is, Printwear

& Promotion LIVE! always feels like catching up with friends, and of course it is always a pleasure to see our threads running on so many machines.

behind the scenes, there was plenty to talk about on the Disley stand. With new blouses, shirts,

ties and scarves on offer, the latest arrivals bring the product range bang up to date. The Mona round neck blouse was a particular draw on the stand, offering wearers a distinctly feminine yet professional image. Colour interest was all about the rich aubergine and vibrant cobalt thatʼs

available across the styles. Sales director, Tony Hughes, said: “Customers were really excited about having a complete wardrobe of options that would cater for all wearers and job functions. “There are so many

different combinations that can be put together, it gives complete flexibility while still

creating a unified corporate look.” With more content already underway for

the website and the rumour of a tailoring brochure to follow, itʼs clear that thereʼs plenty more to come from Disley.

After missing a few years of attending Printwear & Promotion LIVE!, we were

back this year with four new products. These new products included the RK17 Super Premium Polo, which is a great addition to Ranksʼ range of polo shirts. Other new products included the RK37 Fleece Full Zip Jacket, RK21 1/4 Zip Sweat and RK119 Premium Cargo Pants. Visitors reacted with excitement to these new products, as well as to existing products on stand. We have recently employed three

new salesmen, which meant that we had more people on stand to deal with visitor interest and enquiries. Interest was high and we were really pleased with how the show went for us, which means you will definitely see Ranks back at Printwear & Promotion LIVE! in 2018.

Visitors to the stand were able to pick

up new materials such as the new Just Hoods brochure, the new Just Hoods colourcard, the new washed fabric colourcard and a new product leaflet.

his yearʼs P&P LIVE! was truly the digital dawn for screen stencil making.

The FREEStyler and SPYDER II computer to screen products were represented on several stands throughout the show. On MHM Direct GB's stand the MHM versions of the SPYDER II and FREEStyler were both demonstrated live. FREEStyler's new MHM pin registration system is the same system that is used on the MHM version of the SPYDER II and it guarantees screen to screen registration and screen to press registration with the latest MHM presses. On EXILEʼs stand the standard (Tri-lock compatible) versions of the FREEStyler

and SPYDER II were shown. The FREEStyler was also shown on the Resolute DTG and Pyramid stands showcasing the optional add on DTG and screen/digital hybrid printing options that are available.

Well what can I say about P&P LIVE! 2017 other than it was another fantastic show! This year we went all out in a big way, what with it being out 70th

anniversary selling headwear and the introduction of six new styles into our ever growing range of quality headwear. We also made sure that we took full advantage of interacting with the show and the visitors through social media. Over the three days we engaged with both current clients and new clients using the #PandPLive2017 posting various messages, videos and general photos all of which got a great response. So what did we learn at the show this year? Sharon Lee has always focused on quality first. It was great to hear that many of our stand visitors shared this ethos, and quality for many is a prerequisite. As we focus on expanding our range and finishing techniques, quality will always be key to us while maintaining a competitive price at all times. Look out for the new product lines and some ground-breaking branding techniques in the coming months. Just because the show has finished it doesnʼt mean Sharon Lee have finished celebrating, we still have a massive amount of exciting products and services in the pipeline, so keep watching this space for more news.
