Fanela targets further growth thanks to funding L


eicestershire-based Fanela, a garment printing and embroidery business, has utilised a funding facility with Aldermore, the specialist lender and savings bank, allowing


the company to invest in new manufacturing machinery. Fanela was introduced to Aldermore by Causon Business Finance. The funding facility, which is worth £24,800 has helped the company bring in new embroidery and sewing machines to fulfil a variety of orders from both local and international businesses who value the high quality of Fanelaʼs garment printing and embroidery services. Artie Pallari, managing director at Fanela, said: “We have observed a massive change in purchasing trends and are seeing a number of high street retailers bringing the production and finishing of garments back to the UK from abroad. With our personalised processes offering off-the-shelf garment labelling and retail packaging, we are well placed to


International Coatings celebrates its 60th anniversary

his year sees International Coatings, a leader in the development of textile screen


printing inks, celebrate its 60th anniversary. The company was founded in 1957 by Herbert A. Wells, a chemist who previously helped develop Elmer's Glue. The company's first products were custom industrial plastic and adhesive compounds. Over the course of the next 60 years, International Coatings stayed true to its roots as a plastics compounder, pioneering numerous advancements in plastics, coatings and adhesives. Today, International Coatings manufactures a wide range of branded and custom formulated plastic compounds for the apparel, traffic


marking, water filtration, aerospace, sports and recreation, medical and adhesives markets worldwide. The company entered the textile screen printing industry in the early 1960s. Many of the products developed by Mr Wells and International Coatings remain industry standards to this day. MagnaColours launches training academy for screen printers


T


he launch of the MagnaAcademy will aim to encourage more screen printers to explore and embrace


water-based inks, and challenge the perceptions that the process is difficult. The training programme will use comprehensive videos to give users more information about printing with water- based inks, which they will then be tested on before moving to the next module. The online training will be enhanced with bespoke face-to-face training at Magnaʼs Barnsley headquarters, where required. Tom Abbey, executive chairman of

Joining the Stocks team, and working from the office in Scotland, is Dean Sands. Mr Sands has worked with industrial sewing machines since the mid-80s having qualified as a senior sewing machine technician. As a seasoned professional he brings with him a wealth of experience both in terms of sewing machinery and garment technology. He has worked with some big names in garment manufacture, but is equally comfortable with small enterprises and business start-ups. Sharing his experience and helping businesses succeed, his friendly and facilitative approach fits well with the Stocksʼ business ethos. Mr Sands installs, services and repairs all
