Derby fashion students produce visions of the workwear future


S


econd year students from the University of Derbyʼs Fashion BA (Hons) course have presented their uniforms of the future, following a collaboration with the countryʼs largest uniform solutions provider, Dimensions.


The partnership sees students take on the challenge of providing uniforms to be used in years ahead, with Dimensionsʼ award-winning design department setting the brief. The project culminated in a presentation display, following students presenting to their lecturers earlier in the day. The evening event saw each created uniform on display, with students, lecturers and family and friends able to observe. Dimensionsʼ design director, Clare du Mughn, said of the partnership: “It has been great to work with the University of Derby, who have a brilliant team that we work alongside. “The students have been creating some fantastic work this


year, it has been a pleasure to monitor their progress throughout the year. “We took a student on last year for a work experience placement and their contributions were fantastic, as they got heavily involved in customer projects and attended external meetings.”


DuPont appoints QPS as distributor of Artistri inks

uality Print Services (QPS) has added the full range of DuPont Artistri digital inks for textiles to its product portfolio. These textile inks are available in both pigment and dye-based formulations and deliver brilliant colours, excellent fastness properties, and robust print reliability. Compatible with a wide variety of textile printing platforms including MS and Reggiani, DuPont Artistri inks have been developed for printing applications including apparel, accessories, indoor and outdoor soft signage, home décor, activewear, T shirts and much more. They are available in a variety of viscosity bands and have been approved and certified for a wide range of print heads typically used for digital textile printing, including Kyocera, Ricoh Gen4 and 5, Seiko and Epson to name but a few. Chris Bailey, managing director of QPS, said: "We were approached directly by DuPont and it seemed like a perfect opportunity to expand our product offerings.
