Inc., the park will feature about 24 attractions from its iconic brands, such as Monopoly, Transformers and My Little Pony, adding that although the investment is not direct from the toy company, it is immersed in the park development project through the licensing of its products. For now, the opening date of the park -
which comprises an area of 9,000 square metres - has not been confirmed, but it has been revealed that one of the attractions will allow visitors to live an experience of being transported from Earth to Cybertron, the planet of origin of Optimus Prime and the Autobots, characters from the Transformers franchise. Hasbro City Mexico spokespersons
indicated that this will be the beginning of the deployment of the company’s strategy, which seeks to open 12 parks in other Latin American countries in the next decade. For its part, KidZania, as announced by
Paulina Reyes from IAAPA, is in the process of opening a new concept called kizenis, totally innovative, which combines health, exercise and entertainment in one place. This new concept, which will be located in the Mundo E shopping centre, north of Mexico City, has involved five years of planning, development and competitor analysis, in addition to an investment of USD $20 million, said Xavier López, president of KidZania. He described the initiative as “the breaking of schemes, by putting three value proposals for people from one to 99 years under one roof.” The facilities will be distributed across
three zones: Fun, Fitness and Health. For ‘Fun’, physical activity and health are emphasised through recreational activities full of adrenaline, among which are zip lines, suspended bicycles, slides, free falls, trampolines and rope tracks. ‘Fitness’ will have classes of 16
immersive and personalised specialties, including personalised classrooms, running tracks, strength areas, static cardio equipment and a unique climbing wall platform. Meanwhile, ‘Health’ will have spaces created for visitors to relax and replenish the body with services that will

Argentina The Argentine Association of Amusement Parks (AAPA) revealed that the losses during the pandemic were close to 2 million dollars for the 150 affiliates, most of them family entertainment centres (FECs), which were most affected. However, most of the establishments
managed to return to operation with great success, as in the case of Parque de la Costa and the Aquafan complex. Unfortunately, the emblematic Aquasol, in Mar del Plata, did not reopen its doors, although the president of the company, Miguel Ángel Viva, commented that the closure is temporary. “The industry of parks, attractions and
family entertainment centres has shown a strong recovery this year”, the executive director of AAPA, Daniel Catzman, commented. He added that “some new parks have opened, generally small”. According to information from AAPA, in
Argentina, some 40 million people visit parks annually, generating around 10,000 direct jobs. Occupancy levels are already similar to those registered in 2019, but there is concern, as in other Latin American countries, regarding the consequences of inflation, which could deteriorate the
economic performance of the parks due to an increase in operating costs and a decline in household incomes.
Dominican Republic Katmandu Park, which is being built in Punta Cana, is designed to receive 4,000 people per day according to Simon Hirst, director of parks, operations and expansion at Falcon’s Beyond Global, which is carrying out the project in partnership with Meliá Hotels International, in an area of 17,000 square metres, with an investment of USD $120 million. It will be the first theme park developed
in that country and is intended to provide a new value offer for the thousands of tourists who arrive annually at that Caribbean destination. Katmandu Park, which will be
commissioned in 2023, will feature technology developed at Falcon’s X-Lab, located at Falcon’s Beyond headquarters in Orlando, Florida. One of the attractions will be the ON!X interactive theatre, which integrates real-time content, feedback and responsiveness, all within a 5D theatre format, producing immersive and dynamic multi-player gaming experiences. Another major attraction will be
Falcon’s Suspended Theatre, which offers the world’s only two-scene flying theatre experience that transports guests from what appears to be a traditional theatre environment to a massive immersive curved screen.
