A new multi dimension coaster by Intamin Amusement Rides - “the fi rst of its kind in Europe” - will join Movie Park Germany’s wide range of attractions to become a new family favourite this season. The new indoor coaster without inversions is a mixture of coaster and dark ride, and enjoys a multitude of features including special effects, two forward and backward launch sections, and a 360-degree rotating platform.

The setting for the new attraction is the 3,800 sqm hall which formerly housed ‘Ice Age Adventure’ and the horror maze ‘Wrong Turn’, a stone’s throw away from the popular family area, Nickland. Guests will whiz around a 532- metre track at speeds of up to 60 km/h. The coaster only glimpses daylight for a short time and swiftly takes guests around the entrance area in a huge curve before new thrilling moments await inside again. With three trains and 12 seats per train, the theoretical capacity of the new attraction will amount to 900 people per hour. Large screens, plasma screens, sound effects and wind machines integrated in Hollywood-style sceneries will provide an immersive experience and let guests dive directly into a new adventure. The trains also boast onboard audio to intensify sound and music for visitors. “We are happy to offer our visitors even more Hollywood in Germany! The new family coaster for the park’s 25th anniversary is a homage to the past and at the same time a new step towards a vision of the future”, says managing director Thorsten Backhaus. “Inspired by the famous Hollywood Studios in California, the new coaster will be spectacularly staged with a matching storyline, studio and set theming as well as multimedia”. Also in Germany, Ravensburger Spieleland is set to open a big air coaster by SBF Visa Group. GraviTrax Kugelbahn, will be themed to Gravitrax, an interactive marble run by Ravensburger that allows players to design and build tracks, whilst experimenting with gravity, magnetism and kinetics. The arrangement is a single train with fi ve cars on an interactive track system. Aqualantis, the newest zone of Polish theme park Energylandia, will open this season and at its heart will be Abyssus, a shockwave double launch coaster made by Vekoma Rides Manufacturing. It is understood to consist of 90, 500 elements and weigh 815 tonnes, with each car weighing 7 tonnes, taking 16 passengers at a time. The ride has been themed to appear as a pumping station for draining water from the sunken kingdom.

SPRING PART 1 2021 Passengers

will travel over small lakes, ponds, and various water features during the ride. The creators of the coaster, however, assure us that no one will get wet, because the cars will not come in direct contact with water at any point.

A spokesperson for the park explains the ride experience: “We will not take you slowly to the top of the track, as the traditional lift has been replaced with an electromagnetic launch. The force of the Abyssus is simply incredible! It is 5210 KM, which equals the power of 7 engines of Formula 1 racing cars. Thanks to its enormous force, the double launch Coaster can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h!

“During the ride on the impressive 1316 m long track, you will hit four spectacular inversions and reach a height of just over 38 m. Numerous turns, fast changes of levels, and the resulting high overloads and wonderful effects of weightlessness – all this will make your adrenaline levels soar. And then, all of a sudden, about midway through the ride, the effect of weightlessness will knock you into your seat a second time, thanks to the magnetic ejection. “Passengers will travel over small lakes, ponds, and various water features during the ride. The creators of the coaster, however, assure us that no one will get wet, because the cars will not come in direct contact with water at any point.”
