Roller Coasters

SeaWorld San Diego will introduce Emperor, a dive coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard. It will be the tallest (153 feet or 47 m), fastest, and longest dive coaster in California, as well as the only floorless dive coaster in the state. It will travel more than 60 mph (97 kph) and cover nearly 2,500 feet (760 m) of track. After disembarking Emperor, riders will pass and see actual emperor penguins, for which the coaster is named.
Iron Gwazi, a 4,075 foot long hybrid coaster from Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), will finally open at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. It was built using part of the wooden structure from the park‘s former Gwazi. The re-imagined ride incorporates RMC’s IBox type of steel track on a wooden structure, making it a hybrid wooden/steel coaster. Iron Gwazi will be the fastest and steepest ride of its kind. With a maximum height of 206 feet and a top speed of 76 mph, it promises 12 airtime features, including three inversions.
Riders will shiver through family friendly adventures on SeaWorld Orlando’s first launch coaster, Ice Breaker. It’s from Premier Rides. Named after the icy Arctic summits, Ice Breaker will feature four launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida — a 93 foot (28 m) tall spike with 100º angle. Top speed will be 52 mph (84 kph).
