Simworx announces supply of upcoming attraction for Hunderfossen Eventyrpark B
ringing to life the stories of Kjell Aukrust, media-based attraction manufacturer Simworx is excited to announce its latest project for Hunderfossen Eventyrpark.
The attraction, to be named ‘Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator’ will be based on the characters from the famous Norwegian author and illustrator’s Flåklypa Universe, Solan and Ludvig, as they test out, Reodor, a crazy Norwegian inventor’s solution to major climate challenges related to sustainability in the automotive and transportation industry.
The attraction will consist of four, eight-seat Stargazers that utilise 6DOF motion platforms, which allow for a wide variety of movements – making the ride both smooth and adrenaline inducing – in front of a large 3D, curved 16 metre wide screen. The
vehicles, with steam punk inspired theming, have been designed to look like Reodor’s Hyperakselerator from the story, and combine old and traditional elements to resemble something of a snow sleigh with a high-tech upgrade. Theming for the attraction has been designed and constructed by Farmer Attraction Development. The ride itself will last approximately 5 minutes in total with each Stargazer fitted with on-board special effects including water spray, wind and leg ticklers, to enhance the story’s realism. The custom produced media for the ride is to be provided by Norwegian animation company Qvisten, an award-winning filmmaker who has previously created animated features centred on Aukrust’s books. Riders will take their seats on their very own Hyperakselerator’s, and be enouraged to strap in tight as they embark on a test flight, with Ludvig and Solan, from the very top of Pinch Cliff. Starting at Felgen’s workshop and entertained by Solan and Ludvig’s witty commentary, they’ll encounter plenty of challenges and surprises along the way on an unpredictable dash down the mountainside.
The Hyperakselerator’ attraction is due to be completed in time for this summer.
According to a spokesperson for the park: “With a yearly attendance of 250-300.000 guests, this is
Racing waterslide, international festival coming to Carowinds
After a yearʼs postponement, Carowinds, Charlotte, North Carolina, reopens on 22 May when Carolina Harbor water park will debut Boogie Board Racer by WhiteWater, the longest mat-racing water slide in the Southeast. Carowinds is also debuting a new cultural celebration with global cuisine called Grand Carnivale. On Boogie Board Racer, guests will ascend to
nearly 60 feet, grab a mat, and choose one of six lanes where they will wait for the green light to begin an exhilarating competitive ride. Racers will zoom through tubes, high-speed chutes and a thrilling 360º loop. A final drop brings them to maximum acceleration before they reach the finish lane to splashdown. Boogie Board Racer is the first new attraction in Carolina Harbor since the waterpark was expanded and re-themed in 2016. The brightly colored slide will be located near the parkʼs newest roller coaster,
