Park Profile www.parkworld-online.com

Lastly, but most importantly, in 2019 we recorded our

1st year with a positive EBITDAR and we can therefore start working on a future development plan for the park and the whole resort.

PW: What attractions/rides does Cinecittà World offer? SC:When Cinecittà World first opened it had less than 20 attractions, which led to low attendance (around 100k yearly visitors) and a short dwell time (2 hours). As I said, I joined back the company in the middle

of 2016 and now the Park offers 40 Attractions, covering all major categories (coasters, interactive, kids, water…), six daily live shows and has been divided into seven themed areas built along a major loop that connects the whole park. These thematic areas are linked to major concepts

or film genres: Cinecittà, Rome, Spaceland, Far West, Adventureland, The Reign of the Ice + the new Aqua World. Each of them includes a main attraction, one to two kids’ attractions, themed food and outlets. The set design has all been realised internally since Cinecittà is historically a company with a deep know-how in film set productions. Cinecittà World now features 16 media based,

interactive attractions, which marks the new course of the park: interactive, immersive, with rich story telling

that uses the state-of-the-art available technologies. Furthermore we are trying to add social attractions -

engaging activities, the results and overall fun of which depends on who’s involved. Imagine the Reign of the

Ice, a recent snow and ice indoor playground that we opened this winter: a snowball fight varies a lot if I am alone, with my kids or with a bunch of friends! The latest addiction in 2019 has been “Volarium –

Il cinema Volante” the first flying theatre in Italy, dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, that features a fly over his main masterpieces and the Florence of the 16th century. Volarium has was named “Best Italian Attraction” at the recent Parksmania Awards in Italy.

PW: What are the most popular attractions? SC: Besides Volarium, which is, according to internal park surveys, the most popular attraction, we observe

that thrill seekers enjoy Altair, the 10 inversions Intamin Roller Coaster and the Indoor Family Coaster Inferno (Hell), featuring an 8mt in-the-dark free fall. The super splash Aktium is the most attended ride

during the (long) sunny days and summer in Rome, while the Immersive Tunnel Jurassic War is appreciated specially by families with kids, because

it leads guests back 60M years ago in the Age of Dinosaurs. A spectacular view of Rome and the seaside can be seen from the top of the 60mt giant drop tower Indiana Adventure, while teenagers who have grown up with and are used to videogames appreciate the VR arcade Assassin’s Creed, based on the famous videogame saga. Another popular attraction is the Horror House:

coherently with the Movie-to-theme park experience, we developed a walking attraction in

which guests pass through some of the most iconic horror movies film set. Finally, in the Reign of the Ice guests skate, slide, try ice bumper cars, or play with the (real) snow all year long.

PW: Who are Cinecittà World’s key suppliers? SC: Our suppliers are some of the major companies operating around the world: Zamperla, for many of the kid’s dedicated attractions (Wave Blaster, Magic Bikes, Demolition Derby, Jumping Tower, Fire Brigade, Mini-Jet and Convoy) Intamin for the two major roller coaster and the giant drop tower, Mack for the Super Splash, Simtec for the Flying Theatre, Simworx for the immersive Tunnel, Triotech/Polymorph for the Assassin’s Creed VR Arcade, Industrial Frigo for the Reign of the Ice. Finally a number of local / Italian suppliers has been used for the minor attractions while all concept development and design is internal in Cinecittà World. We are directly building all the new waterpark area Aqua World

PW: How important in the F&B and retail offer - what do guests have to choose from? SC: F&B is crucial in a full themed experience, especially now that dwell time has risen from two to around seven hours per guest. At Cinecittà World, F&B accounts for 22% of overall turnover, or 40% if we compare only with ticketing revenues. The offer currently includes: ROMA Restaurant, with

typical Roman cuisine, The Saloon, located in the “Far West” area, where grilled meat and U.S. inspired food
