Tigris joins a top-rated list of favourites for coaster enthusiasts, including

Cheetah Hunt, the park’s longest coaster from Intamin, SheiKra, a 200-foot tall B&M floorless dive coaster, Falcon’s Fury, a 335-foot freestanding drop tower from Intamin, Montu, a B&M inverted coaster, Kumba, a B&M sit-down coaster, and Cobra’s Curse, a spinning coaster from Mack Rides. “Tigris is the ninth coasterat our park,” confirms Clark, “solidifying our position

as Florida’s Thrill Ride Leader. The reputation of our legendary coasters is what keeps our Pass Members coming back each year, but we expect a new addition to catch the interest of guests who haven’t been in a while or have never visited our park to come out to Busch Gardens. Clearly, this is the best time to become a pass member!”

Latest Technologies

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment had previously installed Premier Rides’ Sky Rocket II in Busch Gardens Williamsburg and SeaWorld San Diego. “With recent projects completed at other parks in the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment family,” Clark notes, “we were happy to work with Premier Rides to add Tigris to our coaster collection.” Shoe-horning a new ride into an already full park was a challenge the

park met by removing an older ride. “One of the biggest challenges our team faced with the addition of Tigris was finding the best way to integrate the new ride into the site of a former attraction,” Clark recalls. “Tigris now stands where Tanganyika Tidal Wave (a shoot-the-chutes ride) once stood. Transitioning the space from a water ride to a launch coaster site required a great deal of preparation. We are very proud of the final results!”

“The site was the most challenging due to very limited

access,” confirms Seay, “but great teamwork brought it together allowing the coaster to open well ahead of schedule much to the delight of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s guests. This is the latest generation of Sky Rocket II. While design elements are similar on each Sky Rocket II, Tigris features the latest technologies available especially with respect to the launch system. Also the structure was redesigned for the very significant wind load design requirements of Tampa Bay.” “Tigris has been a great fit for our park and our guests,”

concludes Clark. “We’re very happy with the reception the ride has received.
