SeaWorld Entertainment announces leadership transition

eaWorld Entertainment, Inc., has announced a leadership transition. Gustavo Antorcha has resigned from his positions of chief executive
officer and member of the board of directors. Marc Swanson, who serves as chief financial officer, has been appointed interim chief executive officer. Elizabeth Castro Gulacsy, who serves as chief accounting officer, has been appointed interim chief financial officer. She will retain her role as chief accounting officer. These changes are effective immediately. Antorcha has agreed to assist the company to ensure a smooth transition. “We thank Gus for his contributions and wish
him well in his future endeavors,” said Scott Ross, chairman of the board of directors. “We know
Marc and Elizabeth will be excellent leaders in their new roles and will continue to successfully drive the business forward. The strategy we have in place is working and we have made significant progress. We look forward to continuing to execute on this strategy and driving a meaningful increase in value for all stakeholders.” “I am honored to serve as interim CEO,” said
Swanson, “and to continue to drive our strategy forward. We will continue to focus on improving our execution with enhanced marketing and communications initiatives, more effective pricing strategies, the introduction of new compelling rides, attractions and events and relentlessly seeking and executing on cost and capital efficiencies.”
Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium launches educational activities online
During the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, Gardaland Resort has been promoting active fun activities across its social media channels, specifically designed for children staying home from school. The activities centre around the Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium – the themed aquarium situated inside Gardaland Resort, the mission of which is to protect sea environments. From the aquarium’s website, in the “interactive ocean” section,
families can download and colour drawings of different species of fish. Children can then store their drawings for a future visit at the Aquarium where they will have the possibility to bring the creations to life i,n the new “Interactive Ocean” room, where visitors scan their drawings in to join a huge virtual aquarium projected on the wall. On the Aquarium’s Instagram page, meanwhile, children can also discover different fun facts on the species of fish they are colouring.

Bob Chapek elected to the Walt Disney Company board of directors
The Walt Disney Company board of directors has elected Disney Chief executive officer Bob Chapek to the board. “Bob Chapek has demonstrated
remarkable leadership in the face of unprecedented challenges that were unimaginable when he became CEO just seven weeks ago, and we’ve watched him navigate this very complex situation with decisiveness and compassion,” said Susan Arnold, independent lead director of the Disney Board, and Robert A. Iger,
executive chairman and chairman of the board. Prior to becoming CEO, Chapek served as chairman of Disney Parks,
Experiences and Products. During his tenure at Parks, Mr. Chapek oversaw the opening of Disney’s first theme park and resort in mainland China, Shanghai Disney Resort, and the addition of numerous guest offerings across Disney’s six resort destinations in the U.S., Europe and Asia, including the creation of the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
