Miziker Entertainment to mentor SCAD students

Creative design company Miziker Entertainment is collaborating with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to help cultivate the next wave of location based entertainment professionals in the global attractions industry. Over the past 15 years

universities have begun to develop formal curriculum for the themed entertainment sector and industry veterans are giving back as professors and mentors to help candidates navigate the unique, multidisciplinary field. In a new collaboration, Miziker Entertainment will host a mentorship and professional development weekend, hosting eight qualified students from SCAD’s pioneering undergraduate and graduate programs in themed entertainment design and related disciplines for three days of immersion in the creative theme park industry hub of Los Angeles. The weekend, known as MiZ Wknd + SCAD => LA 2020, will include

roundtable sessions with industry leaders, tours of local companies and attractions, a guided trip to Disneyland and portfolio reviews with the Miziker Entertainment team, including legendary company founder Ron Miziker. In view of the current pandemic, exact dates for this program are yet to be determined.

T

hree of Legacy Entertainment’s projects have just been lauded by some of the world’s top tourism authorities. These newest honours are in addition to two other citations the company’s projects recently received. In Macau, Asia’s gaming and entertainment mecca, it was announced that

Macau Studio City would be receiving the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award for the third consecutive year. Elsewhere, two other Legacy-designed projects were big winners at The

11th Annual China Best Cultural Tourism Awards. Taking home the honour of ‘Best Indoor Theme Park’ was the Legacy-designed Kingdom of Poseidon in the northeast city of Harbin. This 150,000 square metre Integrated Resort, developed and operated by KW Zone, debuted in 2017 and was an immediate hit, greatly exceeding attendance projections. The upcoming, Legacy-designed Chimelong Forest Kingdom was also

recognised, being named as ‘Most Anticipated Theme Park.’ This mega destination, which will include one of the world’s largest theme parks when it debuts later this decade in Qingyuan, China, promises to be a next-generation combination of Theme Park and Animal Sanctuary. Among its anticipated elements are four hotels with over 3,500 rooms, as well an 88 metre high Giraffe Castle.
