Industry leaders launch amusement recovery website
A
collection of leaders in the entertainment industry have worked together to launch Amusement Recovery, a website that helps
operators endure the COVID-19 pandemic and create a plan for post-virus success. The entertainment industry has been severely
impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Most locations have closed their doors indefinitely, with no assurance of when the shutdown will end. Currently there are a lot of informational resources
to help small businesses, but there hasn’t been a singular place where the information can be found. This is where Amusement Recovery fills the gap. The website was built with the singular goal of
helping amusement operators endure these hard times and create a plan for recovery. It combines
everything relevant and important for this industry with quick links and easy-to-digest articles. “We want to help the amazing operators in this
industry,” commented Armando Lanuti, president of Creative Works. “The contributors who created the website are working together to continually add new, timely content to the website. We want to share new information with business owners as quickly as possible, which is crucial because of how fast the pandemic situation is evolving.” The companies and organisations who have
contributed to the creation of this website include AAMA, Amusement Products, Betson, CenterEdge Software, Concepts Performance Management, Creative Works, Delta Strike, Embed, FEG Group, Hologate, Laser Blast, Laserforce, Mini Melts, Party
Center Software, Pinnacle Entertainment Group, Player One Amusement Group, Qubica AMF, Redemption Plus, Shaffer Distributing Company, Sureshot Redemption, and TrainerTainment. More information can be found at www.

In adherence to the guidance of the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and evolving restrictions from state and local governments in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Legoland New York Resort has postponed its opening until 2021. The measure is consistent with the closure of venues and postponement of events worldwide. “Nothing is more important to us than the health, safety and security of
Shangai Haichang Ocean Park re-opens
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park resumed limited operations on 20 March, after a short-term closure. The park had ceased operations on January 24 as a preventative safety measure in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. This phased roll-out will feature a number of new safety precautions, including limited capacities in both indoor and outdoor areas and temperature checks, as well as a suspension of cash transactions. “These last two months have been among the most challenging our
industry has ever encountered,” said Barry Kemper, Legacy Entertainment’s chief operating officer. “We deeply admire the leadership shown by our Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park partners and clients in the face of this great adversity. Their thoughtful and carefully considered actions are setting a model for the rest of the world to follow. We are confident that other theme park and themed entertainment owners and operators will soon be looking to Haichang and others as they cautiously take the first steps back towards normalcy.”
